Well here is evidence that gives us the answer.

Sidney Coe Howard wrote the screenplay for GONE WITH THE WIND, a film that won 8 academy awards and held the title of most successful Hollywood film for 30 years.  But one of the most unusual aspects of this film happened with a child born in a village of 2000 people in the Midwest.  Here it is:

There are many books on the subject of children remembering former lives.  Another example is James Leininger who at two years old was having recurring nightmares and screaming:

“Plane on fire…little man can’t get out!”

With a two-year-old talking about planes and war and providing details no two-year-old could possibly know, his parents eventually gathered all the details and found out their son was reliving the past life of World War II fighter pilot James Huston.  They eventually wrote a book about the experience called SOUL SURVIVOR.

For those who are Christians, the early teaching of reincarnation was very clear, but not what it became later.  America's great Sleeping Prophet was Edgard Cayce, a devout Christian had this to say.  This is from his views.  (My underlines.)

A couple of years later after we had completed the training, my wife Marilyn asked me to help her with some nagging problems that had bothered her most of her life.  While she had no conscious knowledge of any problems, she had a deep feeling of being neglected, maybe even abandoned as a child and wanted to know where the feelings came from.  They had left an empty space inside her that she wanted me to explore.

I used a technique called age regression to get into her past memories.  After setting up the tape recorder and getting her under, I got a total shock - she went completely out of my control and off on her own journey.  Fortunately I had the tape recorder set up and I include the word for word transcript in my book.  And what happened?  She went back to her past life as Joan of Arc and I lived the whole experience of her being tried and burned at the stake from inside her as it happened.

Just to give you an idea of how real this is, here is Joan at 19, and Marilyn in her 60s.  Souls do carry similar physical characteristics from life to life because it is also part of our karma.

Here is part of the word for word transcript of the tape in my book:

“They are coming up the is all dark...all dark...they are pulling me out of the room...I am falling as I walk...they are pushing me - I can't stand to be pushed. They are pushing me and laughing…they are big and I am so small...they laugh...”

“What now?”

“Taking me into a room...there is a man in there with a long white beard. I think he is a priest. He has a crucifix, a large silver crucifix...wearing black clothes...he doesn't smile.”

“What does he say?”

“He asks my name.”

“What do you tell him?”

“I tell him my name is Joan.”

Oh no, I thought - Joan?  There was an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach.  Is that what we were going through?  I tried to regain my composure but knew there was nothing I could do but go along for the ride.

“What does he say when you say your name is Joan?”

“He tells me I am evil.  He says the devil is within me.  They want me to deny that hear my God...that I see my beautiful Lady of Light...”

“Is she standing there with you?  Is that how you see her?”

“She is always with me.  She stands above me.  She is so beautiful.”

“Can you describe her?”

“Her hair is like gold and she wears a crown, a crown of light...more radiant than the sun.  And her arms are outstretched and enfold me...and the light from her being is brighter than the sun.  I cannot look upon it, it is so bright. And she wears a beautiful jewel around her neck, a pearl...and he wants me to say I do not see her...that I do not feel her love and hear my Father.  And I will not.  I will not say that even though they strike me.”

So for me, reincarnation is a very personal and direct experience.  And the amazing spiritual experiences Marilyn and I shared, as described in my book, show very clearly that yes, we do carry our abilities from life to life.

KARMA IS ABSOLUTE, the law that promises 'everything that goes around comes around'.  IT IS CONFIRMED BY A LAW IN PHYSICS - THE LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY which states that energy cannot be created or destroyed - it only changes form So when we think about a human lifetime, that's a huge expenditure of energy.  So it all just disappears after we die?  All the equations of our human thoughts and actions don't need to balance?  Can't happen!

And guess what?  There's only one place where everything can resolve and balance - with the same people where the debts were created.  Where else but here as humans again with the same families, friends and enemies?

Besides the full transcript of the session with Marilyn about Joan of Arc that I recorded, in the appendix of my book is the full transcript of Joan's actual trial from that time and  the hearings that followed in the aftermath of her execution.

When Cayce was in a waking state, this business about reincarnation was very troubling to him, because he was a devout Christian, and reincarnation is not really a part of the belief system in the Christian Church. Or is it, and have people misinterpreted the meaning of many of the scriptures? Jesus said that to get into heaven, one must be as a child. He did tell his disciples that John the Baptist was a reincarnation of Elijah (Matthew17:12-13) when he indicated that “But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him

In Revelations: 13-10, it says, “He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity, he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the Saints.”  Jesus talked of reaping what we had sown.  This gives us a clue that there is a law of moral retribution that operates from life to life.

If one studies the history of the early Christian Fathers, they have written fairly explicitly about their acceptance of reincarnation.  Origen did in the early years of his life, Justin Martyr, St. Jerome, Clemens Alexandrinus, Plotinus and others.

The essence of Christ’s teachings in Matthew 22:37-39 were, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it. “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  How does this simple yet profound teaching conflict with the teachings of any of the World’s great religions? It does not.

“Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful.” Buddha had said.

“This is the sum of duty: do naught unto others which would cause pain if done to you,” is a teaching of the Hindu scriptures.

Both Hinduism and Buddhism found no discrepancy between the law of love and the law of spiritual evolution called reincarnation.

"When Lee was 2 ½ years old, he started talking about his “other mommy.” When he was 3 ½, he started becoming upset because he couldn’t go to his “other house,” and he needed to get back to work.

He would argue that his middle name was Coe, though it wasn’t, and that his birthday was June 26, though it was actually June 21. He said he had a daughter named Jennifer.  He developed an obsession with Hollywood, and he said that’s where he lived.

His parents realized he may be talking about a past life. They asked him what he did in Hollywood. He said he made movies. They asked if he acted, and he said he didn’t, he wrote movies. They started naming off movies, and about the 5th or 6th movie they named was “Gone With the Wind.”

“Yes, that was my movie. I wrote that movie,” he said.

As they were looking up “Gone With the Wind” on the Internet to see who wrote the screenplay and if the information matched up, Lee’s sister asked him how old he was when he died. He said he was 48 years old.

When his parents did the research online, they saw that everything Lee told them when he was a 3½ year old little boy checked out.

From many years of meditation I had many paranormal experiences and developed a psychic sense.  From this I had the intuitive perception that the small grocer of Italian descent who owned a fruit stand near where we lived had been Joan's executioner.  After not going to his fruit stand for a while, we went one morning and seeing he was not there, asked his wife where he was.  Tearfully she told us he had died - like this:

He had gone for provisions and rolled his truck on a corner in a single vehicle accident.  This was on the day when after filling up he forgot to put the gas cap back on.  The truck caught fire.  It was his turn to feel the heat and the pain.  After they got him to hospital, it took him four days to die.  Karma has no mercy.  As well as to bring us blessings, it helps fulfill what we sentence ourselves to from our actions that harm others.  We sentence ourselves.
